AI Governance Principles

Last updated: 29 June 2026

At LinguaFauna Labs Limited, we believe artificial intelligence should strengthen understanding between humans and companion species, not replace it.

Our mission is to build trustworthy Companion Species Intelligence Infrastructure (CSII) that transforms animal signals into structured intelligence while respecting scientific integrity, animal welfare, privacy and human responsibility.

These principles guide the design, development and deployment of our technologies.

1. Human-Centred Intelligence

Our AI systems are designed to assist human understanding and decision-making.

Artificial intelligence supports people; it does not replace professional judgement, scientific expertise or veterinary care.

Final decisions should always remain with appropriately qualified individuals.

2. Animal Welfare First

Animal welfare is fundamental to every technology we develop.

We will not intentionally design, deploy or promote AI systems that compromise the welfare, wellbeing or ethical treatment of animals.

Technological innovation should improve the lives of companion animals, wildlife and livestock, not place them at greater risk.

3. Scientific Integrity

We believe trustworthy AI begins with sound science.

Our systems are developed using evidence-based methodologies and are continuously evaluated as scientific understanding evolves.

We recognise that biological systems are complex and that scientific knowledge is continually advancing.

Our technologies are therefore designed to improve over time through ongoing validation, research and collaboration.

4. Transparency

We aim to communicate openly about both the capabilities and limitations of our technologies.

Where appropriate, we explain:

  • what our systems are designed to do;
  • what they are not designed to do;
  • known limitations;
  • confidence levels where applicable;
  • ongoing areas of research and development.

We believe transparency builds trust.

5. Privacy and Responsible Data Governance

Privacy, security and responsible data governance are integrated into the design of our platforms from the beginning.

Where possible, data used for research, analytics and machine learning is anonymised, de-identified or aggregated.

We seek to minimise the collection of personal information and handle data in accordance with applicable privacy laws and recognised security practices.

6. Responsible Innovation

Artificial intelligence should create long-term value for animals, researchers, veterinarians, conservation organisations, industry partners and society.

We are committed to developing technologies that are:

  • scientifically responsible;
  • ethically considered;
  • environmentally aware;
  • scalable;
  • secure;
  • beneficial to both humans and companion species.

Innovation should always be accompanied by accountability.

7. Human Oversight

Our AI systems are intended to support, not replace, human expertise.

Whenever appropriate, important decisions should include review by qualified professionals.

We believe human oversight remains essential when interpreting complex biological information.

8. Continuous Improvement

Artificial intelligence is not static.

Our models, datasets, algorithms and workflows may evolve as new scientific evidence, technologies and operational experience become available.

We continuously evaluate opportunities to improve the quality, reliability, transparency and safety of our systems.

9. Collaboration and Openness

Many of the world's most important challenges in animal intelligence cannot be solved by one organisation alone.

We actively support collaboration with:

  • researchers;
  • universities;
  • conservation organisations;
  • veterinarians;
  • technology partners;
  • government agencies;
  • industry.

Responsible AI is strengthened through shared knowledge, scientific collaboration and continuous learning.

10. Our Commitment

We do not build artificial intelligence to replace relationships between humans and animals.

We build intelligence to better understand them.

LinguaFauna Labs is committed to developing trustworthy artificial intelligence that strengthens understanding between humans and companion species while supporting research, conservation, animal welfare and scientific discovery.

Our goal is to create intelligent infrastructure that is scientifically rigorous, ethically responsible and worthy of long-term trust.
